Grade 8
Year 8 is one of the most important years in your child’s learning development. In this year, children develop relevant skills that will help them with future learning challenges/opportunities in addition to preparing them for potential select entry school tests. Tuition at this age further accelerates this process with an in-depth analysis of an individual child’s strengths and limitations, which is something that school simply does not do. Curriculum
At Lunar Academy, your tutor will create customised weekly content to address your child's unique learning style and needs, all while aligning with the rigorous standards of the Victorian Curriculum.
Our curriculum is informed by the Victorian curriculum to ensure you or your child meets all their learning outcomes. Your tutor will also guide you to more difficult related topics to extend the knowledge past the student's age group. This allows you or your child to be more prepared than peers for Grade 9, which may grant further opportunities and recognition.

Furthermore, your tutor will guide you or your child through utilising their knowledge to help strategise and prepare for NAPLAN, ICAS and Select School Standardised Testing. Our personalised sessions will ensure that the student, regardless of their current skill level, will see significant improvement in their academic skills and assertiveness.

Sessions
Lunar Academy offers flexible online and in-person classes. Sessions are 3 hours long and divided into three parts:

75 minutes English

75 minutes Mathematics

30 Minute Test
It is highly recommended that your child attends a session at least once per week to solidify their learning outcomes. The arrangement of fewer or more sessions is welcomed.

There are two types of sessions offered: Group and Private. Private sessions are attentive one-on-one sessions with your child and tutor. Group sessions involve a tutor interacting with no more than six students. We have no classroom-sized sessions as we believe that children learn best when they have the complete attention of their tutor.
Prices
Our pricing is simple and competitive, making quality education accessible for all. Online classes come with a 10% discount on standard rates, offering a flexible and affordable learning option.

For families who prefer in-home tutoring, a small travel fee of $5–$10 per session may apply, based on your location. In rare instances where specialised materials or additional support are required, any extra costs will be discussed and agreed upon upfront.
